Support

A person reads every message.

Motiv is made by Northern Software Limited, which is one developer — so there’s no ticket queue and no first-line script. Something broken, a question, or just something you’d change: it all arrives in the same place.

What happened, and what you expected

The part only you can write. A screenshot helps more than a careful description, and “it felt wrong and I can’t say why” is a perfectly good message.

Writing from inside Motiv? Settings → Contact us fills the last two in automatically. There’s no account, so without them we’re guessing.

What people write about.

All of it is welcome. The only reason these are separated at all is that one of them goes to a different inbox.

  • Something isn’t working

A block that stopped holding, a routine that didn’t fire, anything that behaves differently from how it reads. Worth writing about even if you think it might be your fault — it usually isn’t.

  • A question the FAQ doesn’t answer

If it isn’t there, that’s a gap rather than an oversight. Ask, and the answer usually ends up on that page afterwards so the next person doesn’t have to ask at all.

  • Something you wish it did

Suggestions have changed what Motiv does more than once. Half-formed is fine — “this felt wrong and I can’t say why” is more useful than a specification.

  • Something is hard to read, or hard to use

Motiv is built for Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion. Somewhere it falls down is a bug, not a limitation — and worth telling us about even if it seems small.

  • Billing, refunds and cancelling

Apple owns the billing relationship, so cancelling and refunds start in your Apple Account. That doesn’t remove your rights against us — if Apple’s process hasn’t sorted it, write and we will.

  • Your data, or a privacy complaint

A different inbox, because these are handled by the company rather than by support. Motiv has no account, so we may need enough detail to find the record you mean.

Most of it is already answered.

79 answers sit on one searchable page, alongside guides that explain the mechanisms in full — including the parts that are inconvenient for us.

There’s one person behind this.

If you’re using Motiv and want to say how you’re getting on — what’s working, what isn’t, anything you wish it did — the about page has a way to reach them directly, along with the longer story of why Motiv works the way it does.
